Jewish Feminine Society - Quito
This institution was created in 1939 by a small group of women who came with their families, running away from Nazi terror and the beginning of the Second World War.

Its most important activity is to take care of people from the community having economical needs and Jews, who are at Beth Avot – elder home. They are usually visited and those women used to organize some activities for birthdays and Jewish holidays. For instance, rabbi of the community or any member offers small conferences and women belonging to the community, participate in such activities.

We have contributed by giving proteases and some other apparatus for human bodies.

Besides, we give assistance to several institutions, such as elder homes and schools, where pool children are educated. We do these activities by giving food monthly.

With the Red Cross, we join forces to help children suffering leukemia by giving economical resources.

In order to do all these activities, the Feminine Society receives a sum per month from the Jewish Community, as well as donations from entities or particulars. However, unfortunately resources are limited and Ecuador needs more than that to continue to do social work.
